Use a bead, lap or knitting counter
The student gets to pull down the bead, click the
counter for each repetition
[This seems extremely banal but I assure you that kids seem
to love having the opportunity to click the counter...the knitting one that I
have has a ‘kacha-kacha’ sound that helps with the fascination.]
